The Bell (L.136G) occurrence is located northeast of Cous Creek, approximately 800 metres northwest of the creek mouth. Bel is approximately 6 kilometres southwest of Port Alberni.

The area is underlain by basaltic volcanic rocks of the Upper Triassic Karmutsen Formation, Vancouver Group.

Locally, copper mineralization is present in altered volcanics of the Karmutsen Formation. Mineralization consisting of chalcopyrite, malachite and possibly sphalerite is confined to a north trending, steeply dipping shear, not more than 1.5 metres in width. The altered volcanics have notable amounts of quartz.

An estimate of the copper grade was reported to be about 1 per cent. An adit has been driven on the occurrence for at least 9 metres.

In 1962, Cruikshank Explorations completed an induced polarization survey on the area as the Cruikshank and Alberni claims. SYMC Resources Limited explored the area in 1998 to 2006 as part of their Dauntless (Macktush) property. In 2009 through 2011, G4G Resources completed programs of geological mapping and rock and soil sampling on the area as the Macktush Copper property. During 2012 through 2014, Nahminto Resources Ltd. completed exploration programs including limited prospecting, rock sampling, geological mapping and a satellite remote sensing survey and analysis on the Macktush group. A similar prospecting, geological mapping and rock sampling program was conducted on areas of the Macktush property for World Organics Inc. in 2015.
